Use of BIM by professional building services design consultants

BIM methodology is much more than using a software solution and covers three pillars: people, technology and processes.

On the English -language BIM means "information modeling of buildings " , which is a set of digital information on the product throughout its life cycle.        

In this virtual model with the highest level of software, all construction departments will be fully integrated and “speak the same language”.

Aside from software, there are excellent expert consultations to define workflows and rethink the business from the inside out.

The methodology includes training the people involved, including them in this new process, and integrating all aspects, from outsourcing to administrative staff and people who work directly on the work.

This is why collaboration between professionals and teams is very important and is one of the points where BIM helps the most.  

This cooperation and this work is integrated with the software, certain processes and trained people allows you to streamline processes, reduce costs, increase productivity, reduce errors, achieve greater transparency in public works and implement standards , adopted at the international level . In Brazil, the implementation of this methodology will take place in three phases.  

The first applies only to new buildings and comes into force from January 2021, and the second provides for its use in the direct or indirect performance of work and engineering services from 2024.

In the third phase, starting in January 2028, the technology will become mandatory in management and maintenance after the completion of construction, projects and works of which have been developed or carried out using BIM and building services design consultants .
